This was a personal project we (me and my friend Ali Xahidi) worked on. He drew a concept art for 3d city for bugs. Later my part started with the 3d, in which modeling, texturing and rendering was done. Most of the time was consumed in making textures, but thanks to Photoshop, finally we created the desired look and feel.
Today, we want to share a personal project that we worked on together – a 3D city for bugs. My beloved friend Ali Xahidi drew up the concept, and then it was my turn to bring it to life with 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering. The process was time-consuming, but with the help of Photoshop and Autodesk Maya, we were able to achieve the desired look and feel.
As we worked on this project, we focused on creating a cartoonish experience for viewers. We used a variety of layers and elements to bring the 3D city to reality.
We hope you enjoy this 3D city for bugs as much as we enjoyed creating it. Keep an eye out for more of our projects in the future!
Bug City – Making
3D City Model Composition
We used photoshop to layout and composit our textures using many elements and pictures to extract textures according to visual in our mind.
Milk bottle was given a pinkish tone for a soft appearence
The stadium with a pizza top
It was an quick educational project, so we used textures from CG textures and manipulated images to make some desired new. Our ideas were a bit inspired by Bugs Life movie too.
This all comes to this (textured wire frame of city model)
